The State Agency for Child Protection was established under the Child Protection Act with an Ordinance of the Council of Ministers No.226 from 30 October 2000 and started its activity on 1st of January, 2001. The Chairperson with the cooperation of ministries, develops and controls national and regional child protection programs implementation, licenses natural persons and legal entities, supplying child care services, controls child rights protection etc. The Agency acts in cooperation with ministries, agencies and NGOs, working in child rights protection area.
